The process is simple, free, and effective. Once you have registered and logged in you can click on the ‘post a job’ link on the home page. You will be required to fill in a few basic details including the type of help you require, your location (if it’s not a job that can be conducted remotely), how much you are prepared to pay, or whether you wish people to place bids for the amount they will complete the job. Once this has been submitted the page will re-direct you to the job listing and workers are now able to view this. Please note, you can refer back to this job listing from your profile page and on this page it will provide you with a status/action to be completed.
All workers that are associated to this job category will receive a notification of your posting in order to get the ball rolling, so please choose your category wisely! Workers will then contact you directly via submitting a proposal your job, you are then required to accept/decline (or counter-offer if a bid has been made). All the workers that have sent a proposal for your job will be listed on that particular job listing page, and you will only be allowed to message the worker that you have chosen for this service via your myoddjobs profile page.
Under menu you can choose the page “login/register and you will be required to fill in a few basic details including your name, email address, and username and password. Once registered you will gain access to your own profile page in to advertise your services and you will have full access to respond to job adverts. Alternatively if you are attempting to post a job without having an account under “post a job” page, we will ask for the same details as above and submit your job along with registering you with an account simultaneously.
The service is free to register and post a job. This includes a full profile page in the directory to advertise skills, qualifications, availability, and services and the facility to apply and bid for jobs in your local area. For workers: myoddjobs.co.uk will take a 10% service fee from the final price that is accepted by the customer For customers: myoddjobs.co.uk will take a 5% service fee from the final price that is paid to the worker
1. Customers: Post job adverts requiring help with a particular task (as detailed above, simple registration is required with basic details name, email address and job details). All job postings will be listed on your profile for easy access to each listing, workers respond directly with a bid and all proposals are listed under the same page. This page is where you navigate any actions i.e. accepting/rejecting/counter-offering a proposal, or paying deposit. This page also provides you status updates to keep track of the progress i.e. pending response on counter-offer, project in progress.

2. Workers: You can simply search on “find a job” page and review the jobs and submit proposals, each worker will receive an email notification if a job has been posted that matches with your listed skill-set (this can be added and amended on your profile page). You are able to view all your submitted proposals on your profile and can click each job listing in order to see status/action pending e.g. proposal accepted, send payment details.
You can view a workers profile on their directory page and gain a good understanding of what experience and skills they hold. You are advised to view their feedback score & comments on their profile – using our five star feedback rating workers are ranked by real people. The system is similar to other auction sites you may have come across. It ensures that the people carrying out the work undertake it to a high standard, and if they don’t it is listed for all to see. A 5 star rating means they have carried out really exceptional work. Additionally workers are able to post some of their previous work on their profile.
Payment is organised directly between the worker and the customer via a secure payment gateway, Stripe.
Yes, you can both find and post a job under either account type, Your profile page will allow you to toggle between the two accounts to allow you to see details (where applicable) of both posted jobs and completed jobs.
